WESTERN VIRGINIA FIGURED "TIGER" MAPLE ONE DRAWER WORK / SEWING STAND, a rare form, the one-board rectangular top over a shallow open shelf, bordered on three sides by baluster-turned supports, above a single full drawer with inlaid oval central panel and cockbeaded edges, raised on finely turned and reeded legs ending in ball-and-spike feet. Old refinished surface with warm color. Circa 1820-1840. 28 1/2" H, 18 1/2" x 18 3/4" top.
Inlaid oval panel to drawer replaced. Top removed and poorly reset (possibly cut), otherwise very good.
