Paris Club du Livre/Graz, Akademische Druck- und Verlagsanstalt (ADEVA), 1981. 161 u. 171 S. 4°. OLdr. mit reicher Blindprägung u. Rücken- u. Deckelvergoldung u. Bbbd., beide im OSchuber. 2 vols. (facsimile and commentary). With 97 half-page miniatures partly heightened in gold. - Orig. leather with rich gilding and half-leather (minimally rubbed). - Limited edition. - Important major work of the gothic book illumination, which was created for Edward I. and his wife Eleanor of Provence. The very decorative binding and the miniatures showing the high quality of this facsimile. Good condition. Limitierte Auflage. - Die Douce Apokalypse gilt als Hauptwerk der hochgotischen Buchmalerei. Sie entstand an der Hofschule von Westminster wahrscheinlich für Eduard I. und seine Gemahlin Eleonore von Kastilien. Der sehr dekorative Ledereinband und die auf dem Original-Seitenbeschnitt wiedergegebenen Miniaturen zeugen von der hohen Qualität dieses schönen Faksimiles. - Schuber minimal fleckig, sonst guter und frischer Zustand.
