Note: Carl Brenner was a notable Louisville, Kentucky artist originally born in Germany. Trained as a sign painter and glazier, the artist turned to mural and landscape paintings in the 1870s. Visual: Generally good condition. Craquelure and paint shrinkage scattered throughout the darker pigments. Blacklight: An 8'' x .5'' area of touch-up upper center. A 3'' x .75'' area of touch-up lower center. Difficult to read under varnish.
