Ca. 1890 Dark horn knob on a blackthorn branch shaft with a braided leather loop and metal ferrule. The cane is market fresh and originates from the unprecedented heirloom dispersal sale of the “WORKS OF ART FROM THE ROYAL HOUSE OF HANOVER” organized by Sotheby’s in the fairytale castle of Marienburg, near Hanover in Germany, on October 5–15, 2005. This cane was included in the lot #2046 in the above-referenced auction's catalog. Anyone desiring an item with a recorded royal source will be here rewarded, particularly since the cane still bears the inventory castle assets metal label numbered “1030”.
