Ca. 1860-1900 - An exceptional 19th century English "Eclipse" patent concealed gun cane, featuring a natural stag antler L-shaped handle with excellent patina and authentic age character, the brass collar is clearly stamped "ECLIPSE 345 PATENT" denoting one of the better known British cane gun systems of the Victorian sporting era, cane retains working push button trigger mechanism beneath handle activating a smoothbore barrel housed in the shaft, interior brass-lined barrel section is visible upon separation, demonstrating the typical Eclipse patent construction, shaft is warm-toned hardwood with brass ferrule, honest age wear throughout with some minor splitting, good working condition, horn plunger on top of handle is extended halfway for a safety lock and pulled out fully to cock the mechanism.
