Boy and Dog Circa 1982, illustrates Jean-Michel Basquiat's contemporary style, often described as neo-expressionism entwined with a return to primitivism. Basquiat's depiction of a young black boy with a skeletal frame alludes to the representation of black figures found in primitive painting. The boy and his dog is are set amongst a vibrant landscape.
