A signature of Madame De Pompadour mounted and framed in an antique style frame. (The frame may differ from that shown but will be of equivalent value). Supplied with coa.
Jeanne Antoinette Poisson, Marquise de Pompadour, commonly known as Madame de Pompadour, was a member of the French court. She was the official chief mistress of King Louis XV from 1745 to 1751, and remained influential as court favourite until her death.
Her bourgeois, non-aristocratic roots (she was the daughter of a director of provisions for the army), however, soon drew harsh criticism from certain members of the nobility. - Shipping Info
