Boston school, circa 1820s, mahogany and mahogany veneers, scrolled crest rail flanked by relief carved cornucopias, fully developed carved supports with leaf carved shell and acanthus leaf surround, convex seat rail above a gadrooned border, raised on four turned feet, the front fully developed, on casters.32 x 85 x 23 in.Veneer buckling to crest rail; joint crack to left and right rear gadrooned border; seat rail with veneer buckling and chips; later upholstery; rear legs appear to be original, however, the sofa slants to the rear.
