Twenty-Nine Japanese Woodblock Prints
19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY
Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858), Ohashi Atake no yudachi (Sudden Shower over Shin-Ohashi Bridge and Atake ) from the series Meisho Edo hyakkei (One Hundred Famous Views of Edo), signed Hiroshige ga, published by Uoya Eikichi, 9th month 1857;
Ito Shinsui (1898-1972), Yoku-go (After a Bath), from the series Gendai bijinshu dai-isshu (First Series of Modern Beauties), dated 1930, published by Watanabe Shozaburo (6mm Watanabe seal), signed Shinsui ga, with limited edition number 18/250 followed by Watanabe rectangular seal on verso;
Natori Shunsen (1886-1960) , Sosaku hanga shunsen nigao-e gashu (Creative prints: collected portrait-pictures by Shunsen), signed Shunsen hitsuand, sealed in red Shunsen;
Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (1839-1892), Toki Motosada hurling a demon king to the ground at Mount Inoha, signed Yoshitoshi, one artist's seal.
