  Stockton Mulford (1886-1960) Two oils, en grisaille 1) Law of the Trap Life 37" x 27" oil on canvas Signed and dated '22 lower left Verso: Americana Magazine sticker, numbered 3580 with title. Inscription: When Terry came home late that night, Patch would have been at his throat if I had not held him back." 2) Intruder 30" x 20" oil on canvas Signed and dated '22 lower left Verso: Inscribed, some illegible. "She was beside him, before him, (illegible) against his body, clutching for his wrists with her hands, shrinking against him and praying. Father! Father!" $1,500-2,500

  Condition

  1) Craquelure visible throughout. Black light shows 5" x 4" area of inpainting in upper left corner, a tear and repair in canvas also visible on verso. 2) Craquelure visible throughout. Black lights clean. Back of canvas shows holes and mothing. Needs to be relined.
