Artist Bio
Émile Gallé (1846–1904) was one of the foremost figures of the French Art Nouveau movement, celebrated for his innovative glasswork and furniture design. Based in Nancy, France, Gallé pioneered techniques such as cameo, marquetry, and soufflé glass, integrating naturalistic motifs of plants, flowers, and landscapes into his decorative art. His workshop became synonymous with refinement and technical brilliance, influencing generations of glassmakers. While this vase is executed after Gallé, it reflects the distinctive artistry and organic aesthetic for which his work remains internationally admired and highly collectible.
