Still Life
An oil painting on canvas by Emmanuel Mané-Katz, signed at the lower right. Measuring approximately 23 x 27 in., the work presents a still life rendered with expressive brushwork and a richly colored palette, hallmarks of the artist’s distinctive style. While the frame appears to be of later date, the canvas shows age consistent with its period. The artwork itself remains in overall good condition.

Emmanuel Mané-Katz (1894–1962) was a Russian-born French painter associated with the School of Paris. He is best known for his vibrant depictions of Jewish life, religious rituals, musicians, and still lifes, executed with expressive color and dynamic brushwork. After moving to Paris in 1913, he became a central figure among émigré artists who transformed the city into a hub of modernist creativity. Mané-Katz’s works are represented in major museums, including the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire du Judaïsme in Paris and the Mané-Katz Museum in Haifa, Israel, and continue to be celebrated for their emotive vitality and cultural resonance.Have a similar item to sell?
