Fuset & Grau
Noucentisme Silver, Gold, Enamel, and Coral Bracelet
Barcelona, circa 1930's
An exceptional Catalonian bracelet by Fuset & Grau, reflecting the aesthetic ideals of the Noucentisme movement. Expertly crafted in Barcelona during the 1930s, the bracelet combines sterling silver and 18-karat yellow gold, richly adorned with enamel in deep shades of green, purple, and blue. The design is composed of four principal panels—two depicting fantastical Asian-inspired beasts with carved fangs, and two featuring geometric floral motifs, each centered with a carved coral cabochon.
The bracelet exemplifies the refinement and symbolism characteristic of Catalan modern classicism, uniting mythological imagery with masterful metalwork and vibrant color.
Weight approximately 76.60 grams (49.15 dwt).
Length 7.75 in. (19.7 cm).
Panel dimensions 29 × 35 mm (1.14 × 1.38 in.).
Hallmarks
Unsigned; electronically tested for sterling silver and 18-karat gold.

A Spanish bracelet of similar form and enameled decoration, attributed to the same artistic circle and featuring Assyrian motifs, was sold at Sotheby’s New York, Important Jewels, September 28, 2010, lot 243, achieving a final price of $80,500.
Notes
A remarkable testament to the Noucentisme aesthetic, this bracelet embodies the union of mythology, craftsmanship, and modern Catalan elegance—an eloquent expression of Fuset & Grau’s artistic legacy within early twentieth-century jewelry design.
