Robert Redbird (1939–2016) was a celebrated Kiowa painter and a prominent figure in 20th-century Native American art. Born in Lawton, Oklahoma, Redbird was the grandson of Monroe Tsatoke, one of the original Kiowa Five, and carried forward the family legacy of artistry. He worked in various media, including watercolor, oil, acrylic, and airbrush, often portraying Kiowa traditions, folklore, and spiritual themes. Widely exhibited and collected, Redbird’s works are represented in both private and institutional collections, and he was honored for his contributions to preserving and promoting Native American culture through visual art.Have a similar item to sell?
