Jerman Montanez received a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. His work was recently exhibited at MassArt's South Crackatorium and Oklahoma gallery in Chicago. He has been a recipient of the Nona Hershey Auction Award, the FA2D Foundational Auction Award, the Donald Kelley Award for a Printmaking Sophomore, and Departmental Honors.

Artist's Description:
Where the Flesh Hangs depicts a silhouetted boy within a space that is both an underwear aisle and a church, transforming a site of consumption into one of ritual. The boy occupies a space where desire, discipline, and moral instruction intersect. The work considers how early encounters with representation shape the body’s meaning—rendering flesh as something displayed, measured, and morally charged.Exhibition Sponsor:
