Bio: Vaclav Radimky was a Czech Impressionist painter known for his vibrant landscapes and mastery of light. He studied fine arts in Munich and Vienna and later moved to France where he was influenced by the Barbizon School and Claude Monet. Radimsky spent time painting along the Seine River, capturing serene waterscapes and rural scenes that earned him critical acclaim in Parisian salons. He continued to paint Bohemian landscapes with distinct Impressionist style when returning to Czechoslovakia after World War I.
Condition: Surface dust, craquelure throughout the painting, no visible inpaint under UV light; verso sealed.
Provenance: The painting was inherited from the consignor’s late parents, who received it as a wedding gift in 1941 in Brno, a city in Moravia, now Czech Republic.
