Marcus Leatherdale (American, 1952-2022), "Johnson and Snowball, Rayman Circus", 1993, printed 1996, signed in Hindi lower right, pencil signed, titled and editioned "1/10" on verso, 15.25"h x 13.25"w (sheet), 18.5"h x 16.5"w (frame) - PROVENANCE: Property from the Estate of Michael Hampton (1941-2026), NYC - NOTES/LITERATURE: A Pratt-educated New Yorker, Hampton moved within the vibrant and creative circles of 1960s Greenwich Village, forging connections to Cafe Cino, Andy Warhol, Alvin Ailey, and the downtown avant-garde. During his award-winning career at Young & Rubicam, he honed his formidable eye and became known for his exceptional visual instinct, assembling a sophisticated collection of photography, art glass, and Americana that reflected a lifetime at the center of New York's visual culture.
