This antique Persian Bidjar rug from circa 1920 exemplifies the structural mastery and regal design sophistication for which these celebrated "Iron Rugs of Persia" are renowned. A deep navy blue field serves as a dramatic canvas for an elaborate allover lattice of floral bouquets and scrolling palmettes rendered in crimson, rose, ivory, emerald, and soft blue, while an equally lush border of interlacing floral vines and blooming rosettes frames the composition with exceptional precision. Tightly knotted throughout and impeccably defined, this piece delivers both enduring structural integrity and the visual impact of a masterwork of classical Persian court design.Condition
Lot #310 is in very good condition. The pile is full and even, with no visible signs of wear or tear. Both ends are original, complete, and hand-secured, and the sides are hand-secured. There is no dryness in the foundation. This rug is clean and floor ready.
