About the Artist: Born in Hartford to Swedish immigrant parents, Edward Landon left high school for the Hartford Art School and by the late 1920s had moved to Greenwich Village to study at the Art Students League. A pioneer of the serigraph as a fine art medium, he was a founding member of the National Serigraph Society, edited its Serigraph Quarterly and served as its president in 1952 and 1953, and on a 1950 Fulbright grant he introduced the technique to artists in Norway and across Scandinavia. He produced more than 750 serigraphs over his career, later working from Weston, Vermont, and his prints are held by the British Museum, the Seattle Art Museum and the University of Michigan Museum of Art, among others.
