- Lot Description
Good country grouping including a long wall basket with handle and dark red paint, handled splint basket, 20th century folk art portrait, J. J. Haid (1704-1767) engraving of a woman, four early candles, and a mid 18th century child's ladder back arm chair and a shirred rug with flowers, professionally mounted.
Long wall basket: H 14 in. W 20-1/2 in. D 6-1/4 in.
Splint basket: H 8-1/2 in. W 5-3/4 in.
Folk art portrait: Frame: H 7-3/4 in. W 7 in. D 1 in. Sight: H 4-3/4 in. W 5-5/8 in.
Haid engraving: Frame H 9-1/2 in. W 7-3/4 in. D 1/2 in. Sight H 7-3/4 in. W 6-1/4 in.
Candles: L 9 in. W 5/8 in.
Child's armchair: H 28-3/4 in. W 17-1/4 in. D 15-3/4 in. SH 11 in.
Shirred rug: H 30 in. W 54-3/4 in.
Condition: Long wall basket with minor imperfections. Handled splint basket shows some surface wear, no damage. Folk art portrait is in excellent condition with the frame showing edge wear. Haid engraving is in good antique condition with no damage noted. Minor imperfections may be visible on the frame. Slight stain line along the bottom and right hand side of the engraving. Candles show imperfections consistent with age. Child's armchair is in excellent with age-appropriate surface wear. Mid 19th century paint. Plant seat added when painted. Shirred rug is in excellent condition with minor imperfections.

New England Auctions does not ship or arrange shipping.
All shipping is outsourced. All buyers and shippers must come prepared with appropriate packing materials and help for heavy items. Our staff will not be available to help move heavy items. If payment is made by check, items will be held 7 business days before an item is released for shipping.
Items can be picked up in person or by a shipper at 14 Business Park Drive - Unit 5, Branford, CT - BY CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please contact the gallery 24 hours in advance to make an appointment. Pickup can be scheduled for Monday through Friday between 9am - 3pm beginning the Monday after the date of the auction. Please note that all first-time buyers that wish to pick items up in person must pay with cash.A list of local shippers includes:

Purchased items that have been paid for but not picked up or shipped from our auction facility within 14 days of the auction will be stored at a rate of $10 per day per lot for furniture and larger items and $5 per day per lot for smaller items. A moving fee of $25 going into storage and $25 going out of storage will be added. Storage fees and late fees must be paid before items are released. There are no exceptions.
Items not picked up within 60 days of the auction date will be considered in default and become the property of New England Auctions.03/2024
