- Lot Description
Antique Chinese cylindrical hanging bird cage crafted of finely spaced bamboo bars with a domed top and carved wood base, featuring an ornate metal hanging hook with decorative scrollwork and finial. The interior retains a carved natural wood perch and central support, with original circular base panel visible from underside. The cage displays traditional craftsmanship with radiating latticework to the top, double banded midsection, and paneled lower skirt with carved apron detail. Warm honey-toned patina throughout with expected age wear, minor surface abrasions, and oxidation to metal elements consistent with age and use. An attractive example of traditional Asian bamboo birdcage form, suitable for display or collection. Approx. dimensions (in): 28.75 x 16.5 x 16.5.
