An elegant and visually striking grouping of Chinese decorative objects, featuring a finely detailed gilt bronze letter opener accompanied by a matched pair of jade and brass candlesticks. The letter opener is richly engraved with floral motifs along the blade, terminating in a sculptural handle carved in brown jade with stylized mythical creatures, evoking traditional Chinese symbolism and craftsmanship. The warm gilt finish enhances the intricate surface work and lends the piece a refined, luxurious presence. Complementing the opener are two candlesticks composed of carved green jade bases with openwork decoration, mounted with turned brass candle holders. The jade displays natural variations in color, ranging from pale celadon to deeper green tones, with visible inclusions that add character and authenticity. The undersides of the brass bases are stamped “CHINA,” indicating 20th-century production, likely intended for export. Together, these pieces create a cohesive and decorative set that blends traditional Chinese design elements with functional form, making them well-suited for display or collection. Condition varies with age, including surface wear to the metal and natural imperfections and losses to the jade bases, consistent with use and handling over time. Approx. candleholder dimensions (in): 3.25 x 2.5 x 2.5.
