- Lot Description
A finely cast antique Chinese gilt bronze figure depicting a serene seated Buddha, rendered with graceful proportions and a calm, meditative expression. The figure is shown seated in a relaxed pose with hands gently positioned in the lap, draped in flowing robes that cascade naturally over the body and base. The surface retains remnants of its original gilt finish, now beautifully aged with a rich, mottled verdigris patina that highlights the contours and adds depth and character. The head is adorned with a traditional topknot, and the facial features are softly detailed, conveying tranquility and refinement. The underside is hollowed, consistent with traditional casting methods. This piece exhibits wear and patination consistent with age, making it an attractive decorative object as well as a collectible example of Asian devotional art. Approx. dimensions (in): 10.5 x 5.75 x 3.5.
