A striking antique opaline glass urn-form vase, beautifully hand-painted with a detailed naturalistic scene of birds nesting among flowers and foliage. The soft cream-toned glass body is richly decorated in vibrant enamel colors, framed by elegant gilt metal side mounts and topped with a matching finial lid. The vase sits on an ornate cast metal base with scrolling acanthus motifs, adding a strong decorative presence. The underside reveals a central fitting, indicating the piece has been converted to a lamp at some point in its history. Likely of European origin, possibly French, this piece blends fine decorative artistry with functional adaptation, making it an eye-catching accent for traditional or eclectic interiors.
