Charming antique oil on canvas portrait depicting a young child dressed in a dark coat and hat, standing beside a large St. Bernard dog in a pastoral landscape setting. The composition captures a tender moment, with the child gazing off into the distance while resting a hand affectionately on the dog's head. The dog is rendered with expressive detail, particularly in the richly painted fur and gentle facial features. The background features softly painted rolling hills and trees, adding depth and atmosphere to the scene.
