- Lot Description
A striking antique Seth Thomas mantel clock featuring an ornate cast metal case with rich gilt finish and beveled glass panels on all sides, allowing full visibility of the mechanical movement within. This example is marked “ST” and “Made by Seth Thomas in U.S.A.” with model designation B-48-N, showcasing the maker’s renowned craftsmanship and reliability. The elegant case is decorated with flowing Art Nouveau–inspired motifs and stands on four scrolled feet, while the white enamel dial with black Arabic numerals and dual winding arbors retains its classic, highly readable design. The interior reveals a time-and-strike movement with coiled gong, adding both visual and auditory appeal. Showing age-appropriate wear including patina, light surface wear, and minor discoloration to the dial, this piece remains a highly decorative and collectible American clock, ideal for display on a mantel, shelf, or in a curated antique collection. Appears to be missing a pendulum. Approx. dimensions (in): 14.5 x 8 x 6.75.
