- Lot Description
A framed original etching by Charles William Dahlgreen (USA, 1864–1955) titled “Spring,” depicting a tranquil wooded waterside landscape with clustered trees, shoreline foliage, and reflected trunks in the still water below. The etching is pencil titled “Spring” at the lower left and pencil signed “Chas. W. Dahlgreen” at the lower right, with a reverse label also identifying the work as an original etching. Presented under matting in a gilt frame, the piece displays Dahlgreen’s fine etched linework and atmospheric tonal handling. The work shows age-related toning and wear consistent with an antique framed print, including minor scuffs and handling wear to the frame and backing. A desirable signed landscape etching by listed American artist Charles William Dahlgreen, well suited for collectors of early 20th-century prints, regional art, and traditional framed works on paper. Approx. frame size (in): 12.5 x 15.5 x 1 , Approx. painting size (in): 7.5 x 9.5.
