- Lot Description
Antique Chinese bronze vase of classic hu form, featuring a faceted, pear-shaped body rising from a stepped foot to a squared rim. The shoulders are applied with finely cast beast mask (taotie) handles holding loose rings, adding strong sculptural presence and traditional character. The surface displays a rich, dark brown patina with areas of natural oxidation and age wear consistent with its vintage character. The base bears an impressed seal mark to the underside. A substantial and decorative example of traditional Chinese metalwork, well-suited for display as a standalone piece or within a collection of Asian antiquities. Approx. dimensions (in): 9.75 x 6 x 6.
