- Lot Description
An elegant antique Chinese hardwood stand or side table featuring a finely carved openwork frieze with scrolling foliage and fruit motifs, supported by shaped legs terminating in stylized paw feet. The richly toned wood shows warm patina and age-appropriate wear, enhancing its character and authenticity. The top is inset with a beautifully figured stone or marble panel displaying natural veining in soft gray and cream tones, a classic feature of traditional Chinese furniture. The underside reveals hand construction details and old markings, consistent with age. This versatile piece would function well as a plant stand, display table, or accent in both traditional and modern interiors. Condition is good overall with visible wear, scuffs, and minor losses consistent with age and use; the marble top shows surface wear but remains intact and stable. A striking decorative and functional example of Chinese craftsmanship. Approx. dimensions (in): 17.75 x 16.75 x 16.75.
