Chinese hardwood wine table or small altar console, Qing Dynasty, 19th century, featuring a rectangular plank top with mitered frame construction above a simple waist and elegantly shaped apron supports. The table is crafted in a traditional Chinese form with straight legs joined by stretchers, displaying desirable hand-worked construction details and warm aged patina throughout. The underside reveals period joinery consistent with antique Chinese furniture, while the compact size makes it suitable as a wine table, scholar’s table, altar stand, lamp table, or decorative accent piece. Condition is consistent with age and use, including surface wear, scratches, scattered losses, shrinkage cracks, repairs, and finish wear commensurate with over a century of use. A handsome and versatile example of Qing-period furniture that would complement both traditional and modern interiors.
