- Lot Description
A vibrant 1924 impasto oil painting by E. Brandt, signed and dated at the lower right, depicting a lively rural landscape with a winding country lane, clustered trees, golden fields, and a breezy blue-and-white sky. The artist uses thick, sculptural strokes of paint to build the foliage and foreground, creating a richly textured surface with strong color and movement throughout. Warm greens, ochres, yellows, and earthy rose tones give the scene a cheerful, sunlit quality, while the broad oak frame adds rustic period charm. The painting remains under an older backing board with a wire hanger and shows expected age and handling wear to the frame and reverse, with visible surface texture and an appealing handmade character. A decorative early 20th-century landscape with excellent presence, bold impasto technique, and strong country-house appeal.
