- Lot Description
Fine signed etching by noted British artist Hedley Fitton, depicting a dramatic old-world Genoa street scene dominated by a monumental arched passageway, densely detailed stone architecture, figures, market activity, and deep atmospheric shadow. The print is pencil signed by the artist in the lower margin and bears a small frame plaque reading “Genoa.” Presented under glass in a dark wood frame with layered matting, the work shows Fitton’s characteristic architectural precision and expressive linework. Condition appears consistent with age, including toning, mat discoloration, scattered foxing, and general wear to the frame and backing; not examined out of frame. A handsome antique architectural etching suitable for collectors of European city views, British etchers, and early 20th-century works on paper. Approx. frame size (in): 29.25 x 22 x 0.75, Approx. painting size (in): 19.75 x 13.
