- Lot Description
A striking large-format manuscript choir leaf on vellum or parchment, hand-rendered with red four-line staves, bold black square musical notation, and Gothic script Latin text. The leaf is decorated with colored initials, including a prominent red-and-blue illuminated initial and ornamental penwork flourishes, with music and text visible on both sides. The surface shows natural waviness, age toning, staining, handling marks, creasing, edge wear, and small losses or punctures, all consistent with an old parchment manuscript fragment. An appealing decorative and collectible ecclesiastical music leaf, suitable for framing, study, or display, with strong visual presence and attractive calligraphic detail. Approx. dimensions (in): 22 x 16.
