- Lot Description
Offered here is an extensive and visually striking collection of vintage barber and shaving tools, featuring a wide assortment of straight razors, barber shears, shaving brushes, safety razors, blade boxes, and grooming accessories. The lot includes multiple straight razors with celluloid and composite handles, some clearly marked examples such as Burrell Cutlery Co. (Ellicottville, NY) and A. W. Wenk & Son (NY, USA), along with several unmarked or lightly worn pieces. A variety of barber scissors and thinning shears are present, showing honest use and age. The grouping also contains numerous shaving brushes in different sizes and handle styles, including examples marked Rubberset, as well as other early makers. Several vintage safety razors and blade holders are included, along with original blade boxes such as Personna, Oster, and other period brands, adding great display appeal. Two compact grooming kits in leather cases with fitted interiors are also part of the lot. A particularly interesting inclusion is an early “Journeymen Barbers’ International Union of America” constitution and membership book, dated to the early 1900s, which adds historical context to the collection. Condition varies across the group, with expected wear from age and use including patina, surface marks, and some oxidation, but overall it presents as a desirable and comprehensive antique barber lot ideal for collectors, display, or resale.
