Charming lot of 2 framed reverse-painted glass folk art panels, each housed in a distressed black wooden frame with aged surface wear and craquelure throughout. One panel depicts St. John holding a lamb, inscribed “HL. JOHANNES,” surrounded by bold stylized flowers in red, orange, yellow, and green against a blue-green background. The companion panel shows a whimsical boat scene with multiple figures, a bird-like vessel, striped green waves, and a vivid orange sail or banner. The backs show older framing hardware and paper backing, including a Residenz Bücherstube label and a printed German broadside-style image on the reverse of one frame. Decorative, colorful, and highly unusual, these pieces display a strong European folk-art character and would make an eye-catching addition to a collection of religious, painted glass, or folk art objects. Approx. biggest frame dimensions (in): 13.5 x 10.5 x 0.5.
