Original mixed media painting on board featuring a powerful abstract figural composition in the spirit of contemporary folk and outsider art. The work depicts an African American figure surrounded by layered gestural marks, textured pigment, metallic highlights, and expressive scratched linework in rust, ochre, green, black, white, and earth tones. The surface has a raw, worked quality with visible scraping, drawing, painterly buildup, and areas of exposed ground, creating strong movement and emotional presence. The reverse retains paint residue, age-related wear, and a simple wire hanger, consistent with an artist-made studio piece. Unsigned from visible inspection. A visually compelling original artwork with strong decorative appeal for collectors of mixed media, figural abstraction, African American folk art, outsider art, and contemporary self-taught style works.
