- Lot Description
Expressive modernist bronze sculpture depicting a gaunt, skeletal standing figure with a hooded head, elongated limbs, exposed ribcage, and clasped hands, mounted on a polished rectangular wood plinth with a dark lower base. The work has a rough, hand-modeled surface with green and brown patination, giving it an aged and haunting presence. A monogram or artist’s mark, appearing as “B” or “PB,” is incised on the side of the bronze base. The underside of the wood plinth shows a central mounting hole and signs of age and handling. A striking figural sculpture with strong Brutalist, Gothic, and existential modern art qualities, suitable for collectors of mid-century or contemporary bronze works. Approx. dimensions (in): 12 x 5.5 x 5.5.
