A compelling pair of contemporary oil on canvas figurative studies depicting a female subject in two complementary poses, one a rear seated nude draped in fabric and the other a standing three-quarter view wearing minimal garments. Executed in a soft, impressionistic style with expressive brushwork and muted tonal backgrounds, the works emphasize form, light, and subtle color transitions. Both canvases are signed and dated “Jan. 20, 2009” on the reverse, and are housed in simple stretcher frames bearing the name “Fredriv.” The paintings present a cohesive artistic vision, likely intended as a companion set, and would make an appealing addition to a modern or contemporary art collection.
