- Lot Description
Abstract mixed media painting by Swiss artist Paul Stauffenegger (1925–2016), titled “Unter Tag,” presenting a strong mid-century modern composition of layered geometric forms in earthy ochres, deep browns, muted greens, and contrasting blue tones. The work shows a textured, almost collage-like surface with bold intersecting shapes and a central organic form, characteristic of post-war European abstraction. Appears signed lower edge and retains labels verso including Zürcher Kantonalbank inventory tag and titled reference label. Housed in a simple frame with mat; overall presenting well with minor age-related wear consistent with handling and storage. Approx. frame size (in): 30.5 x 22.75 x 1, Approx. painting size (in): 23 x 15.5.
