- Lot Description
Charming set of three framed religious folk art icons, each depicting a brightly colored saintly figure in a black molded frame with gold-toned background and hand-lettered inscription. The group includes St. Christopher carrying the Christ Child through water, St. Richard with plow and ox, and St. Johannes D.T. / St. John the Baptist holding a banner beside a lamb. The pieces are executed in a traditional devotional style with bold outlines, vivid red, green, blue, and yellow tones, and decorative floral accents. Each frame has a hanging loop, with one retaining a modern custom framing label on the reverse and the two smaller examples backed with printed “Der Handmaler” papers. A visually striking decorative grouping with strong religious, folk art, and Continental devotional appeal; surface wear, frame scuffs, backing wear, and age-related imperfections are present as shown. Approx. biggest frame size (in): 7.25 x 6 x 0.75.
