- Lot Description
Offered here is a classic Leica IIIa 35mm rangefinder camera, serial number 261609, produced by Ernst Leitz Wetzlar in the late 1930s. This iconic pre-war Leica features its original collapsible lens (likely a Leitz Elmar 50mm f/3.5), knurled controls, and engraved top plate markings, all hallmarks of Leica’s legendary precision engineering. The camera retains its original vulcanite covering and includes a vintage brown leather ever-ready case with strap. The lens shows internal dust and possible haze consistent with age, and the body exhibits light wear and patina from use, but remains mechanically complete with visible internal components intact. A highly collectible example of early Leica craftsmanship, ideal for display, restoration, or use by enthusiasts of classic rangefinder photography. Approx. dimensions (in): 2.5 x 5.25 x 2.5.
