Featured in this lot is this Montana variety barbed wire display circa 1870-1913. This display features a wonderfully and professionally crafted professionally framed display construction and shows original 1880's Montana barbed wire with a variety of styles that include tags explaining that; the frames were all custom made with burl wood panel decoration. The first tag reads as follows: WWI Prisoner of War German Entanglement Wire quite a specimen 1913-18Square Twisted Point. The second display note reads as follows: Flat Barb Brotherton Pat. Sept, 3 1887. The next strand of barb wire note reads as follows: Giddens Square Line 4 Point on Square. The next note reads as follows: H.B. Scutts "H" plate Pat. June 18, 1878. The next strand and note reads as follows: A. Elvis D Spread Pat. Jan 31, 1882. The next strand and note reads as follows: L.P. Judson Notched Ribbon RARE Pat. Aug 15, 1871. Crandalls Champion Rare-with Dousled lace net Pat. Nov 4, 1879. The next strand and note reads as follows: --- twist - - - - Holoout pat Aug. 22, 1876. The condition of this barbed wire display is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage to the display and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this barbed wire display is 60 3/8" x 37 3/8". The collective weight of this display is 39lb 10oz.
