The lot features an excellent collection of 43 original real photograph postcards of Western Cowboy's performing in Rodeo's. Most of the postcards are hand written into the negative explaining what is being seen in the images along with the location and sometimes the date. These postcards range from circa 1900 to the 1930’s and are a wonderful representation of Rodeo and Trick Riding culture in the West. The collection includes photographs from Wyoming, Texas, Pendleton Round Up Rodeo in Oregon, Livermore Annual Rodeo in California, Klamath Falls Rodeo 1923 in Oregon, Nebraska’s Big Rodeo Burwell, Iowa’s Championship Rodeo Sidney 1936, Frontier Days Walla Walla Washington 1913, Redding California 1905, Cheyenne Wyoming Rodeo, and Virginia Dale Filling Station Colorado. By such photographers as W.H. Horne Co., Lawless Photo, Co. Underwoods Pharmacy, Maurc’s Photo, Pendleton Pro Co., P.F.P. Co. Inc., Richaolas Saghalion, O’neill Photo Co., Eastman’s Studio B., Dewey Roundup Rodeo, Bawgus, J.H. Eastman B., Sanbarn, S.F.F.A., and Ralph Russell Doubleday. The images include such early famous individuals as Jonnie Schneider, Hank Potts, Tex McLeod, Lefty Christian, Slim Will, Slim Caskey and his mule Will Rogers, Slim Caskey, Chas Nielson, Princess Lola, Eleanor Gitzendaner on horse “Suicide”, Leonard Stroud, Weaver Gray, and Lorena Trickey. These images are so enjoyable to look at as they include such exciting acts such as jumping a car with double horseback, Fancy Riding legs in the air, fancy roping, going under the horses belly, doing a fender drag, going under the horses neck, skipping the big loop rope, trick roping while standing upright on the saddle, saddling a bucking horse, and trick roping three horses with riders all at once. Total of forty-three postcards measuring approximately 3.5”x5.5”. Then images include cowboys, vaquero's, cowgirls, Indians, horses, equestrian, trick riding, and more.
