Autumn, Summer and Winter
Part of a set of four plates for "The Four Seasons" printed by James McArdell (Irish, 1729-1765) and Robert Houston (Irish, 1721-1775).
Losses and stains.
Provenance: John Brown (1736-1803), Providence, Rhode Island;
To his daughter, Sarah Brown Herreshoff (1773-1846);
To her son Charles Frederick Herreshoff (1809-1888);
Thus by descent in the Herreshoff Family line.
