Set of Five Federal Carved Mahogany Dining Chairs
New York, 1800-1820.
37 1/2 x 21 3/4 x 17 3/4 in. (95.3 x 55.2 x 45.1 cm.)Condition
One chair with chips to feet, refinished. One with corner clocks added at a later date. Bears label inside seat frame “Restored by Robert Whitley” – some wear to stretchers. Two chairs with repairs to stiles at juncture with crest. Corner blocks replaced. Rear seat rail stamped “RF” – refinished – Wear to stretchers and feet. Another with replaced rear corner blocks probably replaced medial stretcher. Some bruising to stiles and legs. Refinished. Thank you for your interest in our upcoming sale.
