Brown Painted Pine Spill Box
Probably Connecticut, 18th Century. Together with 18th Century spills.
Provenance: Lillian Blankely Cogan, Farmington, Connecticut at the Winter Antiques Show, 1980
14 1/2 x 3 1/4 x 1 3/4 in. (36.8 x 8.3 x 4.4 cm.)Condition
Patch to one volute flanking heart. Some scattered chips/losses on one side where backboard nails came from back through sides. Small chip/loss to front corner of bottom board. Chip to front edge of side behind drawer and near another nail from front face. Scattered wear and imperfections to surface consistent with age. Otherwise, in overall good condition.
