Dutch Delft Blue & White Five-Piece Chimney Garniture
C. 1800, Painted with harbour scenes of figures before sailing ships in a harbour, the reverse with similar vignettes of three-mast ships, within leaf and scroll-moulded cartouches, comprising: three baluster vases and covers with parrot and fruit finials and two beaker vases
Chips and wear.
Provenance: Christies, Sale 5154, 12/5/07, lot 629
Largest: 5 1/2 in. (14 cm.)Condition
Vases: First, hairline crack on inside from rim. Chips and losses to rim, foot. Second with similar glaze / chips and loses to rim and foot.
First covered Jar: Large glaze chip to top of bird head. Hairline to lid. Scattered chips to rim / foot and edge of lid.
Next jar: In similar condition with glaze chip to tail but not head. Scattered glaze / chips to rim and foot. Retains a 2007 Christies sale label #5154, Lot 629, on the bottom.
The last with loss to tail end of finial. Scattered chips to left underside of foot with chipping. Otherwise similar condition as the previous two.
