Federal Mahogany Eagle-Inlaid Chest of Drawers
American, c. 1790, with six drawers.
41 x 42 1/2 x 21 1/2 in. (104.1 x 108 x 54.6 cm.)Condition
Scratches, stains, shrinkage, cracks, and wear to top and case consistent with age and use. Center drawer fitted with a spring lock. This was always a three drawer configuration on the top row. Brasses replaced. Bottom drawer and one short drawer lacks locks. Cracks and repairs to right rear leg. Patch and repair to front right leg. Patch and repair to left front side facing. Minor patches to veneer. Some light drip marks down one case side. Typical bruising and wear. Otherwise, in overall good condition.
