J.M Tiron Seven Year War Gold Snuff Box
French. 18th C. Jean-Marie Tiron. Made for military commander at the beginning of the Seven Year War, marked on inside of lid and faintly on interior base. Overall chased with panoply of arms in mixed metal including: drums, flags, swags, sprays of flowers, and cannons. Approx. 93.18 dwt.
Provenance: SNY 62194, lot 119, June 21, 1994, $8500, Sotheby's, New York. Collection of Henry Ford II, February 25,1978, lot 14.

Light surface wear and scratches. No visible repairs. Appears to retain its original surface with crisp engraving.
