William and Mary Red Painted Pine Ball Foot Chest of Drawers
Ipswich, MA, c.1680.
The chest is structurally original throughout, no major restorations with exception of the pulls, which are period but may have been replaced. Some of the escutcheons may be original. Four drawer chest of this period are very rare.

Feet likely replaced. Wear and abrasion to surface. Surface patch to corner of one drawer. Shrinkage cracks to case side. Small pitcher to ends of side base moldings. Bruising, abrasions, and wear to top consistent with age and use. Some scattered white paint drips on one side. Minor losses and wear to base molding. Drawer guides added later to help with smooth opening and closing of drawers. Otherwise, good solid condition.
